The general assembly of the Colayrac rugby Olympic Club took place at the end of June of June at the club house in Colayrac where players, families and volunteers had come in large numbers to participate in the exchanges. Jean-Pierre Antonioli underlined the good atmosphere within the club which ensures its sustainability beyond the sporting results since the club finds itself in Regional 3.
A conviviality that was honored during the reception of the senior women’s team of Toledo thanks in particular to the young Spanish Colayrac women’s team very involved in the club with a sense of commitment on the ground and a joy of live outside. This promising new junior team brings a breath of fresh air and dynamism to the club. And also good results for this first season with already an 8th final and a ranking in the middle of the table. Note that the group of 23 girls, 80% of whom had never played rugby before, is one of the largest teams in the league. The cadets were called back by the leaders for their exemplary nature: “Hats off” and “Bravo”!
The impact of Covid
The sports report was then presented for each category. After the 2 Covid years, many athletes have not returned to training, departures of players and managers have also damaged the club, but the solid collective is holding up despite a series of defeats, the club leaders thank the helping juniors and seniors who came as reinforcements as soon as possible to avoid forfeiting, spreading a good team spirit again. The arrival of new coaches and supervisors will make it possible to support the staff already in place in order to aim for a rise in Regional 2. Concerning the juniors, an agreement with Bon-Encontre has made it possible to strengthen the teams and avoid new withdrawals and to that the colayracais leaders thank the RCBB! A U12 alliance with Sainte-Colombre should also be on the program at the start of the school year. The rugby school registers 48 children and 8 educators. The baby rugby course requires reinforcement supervisors. The problem of the lack of educators and volunteers is recurrent in many categories (U6-U8-U12). The Coc Rugby once again thanks the loyalty of “Grandpa” always ready to feed his troops! Finally, the mayor Pascal De Sermet present during the assembly will study the requests of the president of the club, and despite a difficult budgetary context, should quickly provide changing rooms for women.
