Four female playersUSO Mondeville part of the France U20 team to compete in the 2022 European Championships in Hungary. Louise Bussière, Vaciana Gomis, Nahan Niare and Aminata Gueye got into the action at the end of June with a stage with the France team and the preparation matches for the Euro. The talent of blueberries was ultimately not enough for them to get on the podium, despite good performances in several meetings.
A lackluster first part of the tournament
Before entering the tournament, the Bleuettes had a good period of preparation, winning four out of five preparation matches.

During the group stages, the French play the Netherlands, the Czech Republic and Hungary. A complicated warm-up with only one victory and two defeats for the Bleuettes who nevertheless qualified for the round of 16.

Mondeville brings a solid game
The French were waiting for the first match of the round of 16 firmly. This first knockout match was played against Sweden who came out of two victories and a defeat in the group stage. Leading 34-32 at half-time, the Bleuettes accelerated on the return from the locker room and left no chance for the Swedes in the important 73 to 57. The Mondeville players are in good shape during this meeting with 9 points scored for Louise Bussiere and 8 points for Nahan Niare.
Fr pintsthe tricolor players do not doubt a second against Portugal and emerge victorious with a score of 77 to 35. The Mondevillaise Aminata Gueye is a pillar for the Habs during this match, with 18 points scored and 100% success.
A lack of regularity in the last four
Fr semi-finalsthe Bleuettes once again face the Czech Republic. Outstripped from the start of the game, they remembered the score before half-time to lead 34 to 32 at the break. The two teams remain in contact in the second part of the match but the Czechs resist and win again to slip into the final with a frustrating score of 65 to 63.
The French play the small final against theItaly and suffer the first half to return to the locker room 41 to 23. The Tricolores pull themselves together in the second part of the match but fail to recall the score against the ruthless Italians. The France team loses 48 to 64 and finished fourth in this championship. The skill ofAminata Gueye during this last meeting struck again with 22 points scored for the player from Mondeville.
Spain are crowned European U20 champions by beating the Czech Republic in the final 47 to 42.
