Benjamin Bonzi, 56 years olde world, qualified for the semi-finals of the ATP 250 tournament on grass in Mallorca by dominating the German Daniel Altmeier (64th) 6-3, 6-4, Thursday four days before the start of Wimbledon.
Bonzi, 26, will face Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas on Friday (6e), who beat him last week in the first round in Halle, or the American Marcos Giron (67e), to try to climb for the first time in his career in the final of an ATP tournament.
“So far, it’s been a very good week”named the Frenchman who had reached the quarter-finals in Stuttgart for his first grass-court tournament of the season.
Direct entry into the main draw at Wimbledon
Last year, on grass, he reached the semi-finals of the Nottingham Challenger before reaching the second round at Wimbledon (beaten in four sets by Marin Cilic) having gone through the three qualifying rounds.
This year, Bonzi will step straight into the main draw at Wimbledon.

At the top of the table in Mallorca, the quarter-finals pit Russian world No. 1 Daniil Medvedev against Spaniard Roberto Bautista (20e) and Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor (53e) to the Swiss from the qualifications Antoine Bellier (303e).
