Quadruple Grand Slam winner in men’s singles (Roland Garros 2012 and 2013, US Open 2017 and 2018), triple Paralympic champion in men’s doubles in Beijing, Rio and Tokyo, Stéphane Houdet will be present this afternoon at the Balza plain to inaugurate the covered courts that will now bear his name. Decided in 2015 and completed in 2020 during the health crisis, which had forced the municipal team to postpone its inauguration, this new equipment allows all members of the local club to better practice their passion, whether in leisure, in competition, or through learning with a teacher from the Bessières tennis club (BTC). After the Jean-Cayla bowling alley, the Robert-Montclar room, Armonia and the Jean-Amat stadium, the city has, with this new achievement, a set of substantial sports facilities which has enabled it to be labeled “Terre de Games 2024.”
