CAN Handball 2022 (men): Senegal beat Cameroon in the classification match and finished 11th

Eliminated after their first two group matches, the Handball Lions saved their participation in the CAN by obtaining two successes in 4 games in this CAN 2022.

It was not an easy bet for Fred Bougeant and his men in this African Cup of Nations handball. 18 years after their last participation, the Lions had achieved the competition by two defeats in group matches. Two defeats meant elimination as Senegal shared Group D with globalists such as the DRC and Angola.

But after learning from their first two outings, the Lions won their third opponent, Zambia. And better for their balance sheet, the Senegalese again took over Cameroon in the classification match, this Sunday. Fred Bougeant’s men won on penalties by 4 to 3. They thus finished in the 11the position in the general classification.
