J.-C. Cassan, the mayor of Caraman, met the honor of the Caraman rugby team which won the French championship in the second round.
On July 8 at 6:30 p.m., the mayor received the players and their families at City Hall to congratulate them on this historic performance. “I am proud of these athletes, it is an honor for the city”. The municipal council chamber resounded with warm applause and gifts were given to the rugby players with the partnership of the county council.
A team supported by all the inhabitants of Carama and their coach, Lilian Cancian, who knew how to set them apart.
Players, who from week to week have won matches brilliantly and in an increasingly productive dynamic. It is with the shields of the region and Occitanie that the team won this French championship with the qualification against Cisternes, then Saint-Jean de Maracq then Velizy-Villacoublay and finally, a new victory over Carbonne-Longages. It was therefore in Limoux that the final was played against the brilliant team of Millas. The JSC entered the history of the club by winning the shield of French rugby champion 2nd series with a score of 13 to 11.
