CD56: “Golf and Children with Disorders” Projects at the Golf of Baden

“Golf and children with disabilities” projects

From April to June 2022, the Baden golf course regularly welcomed young people with various disorders (autism spectrum disorders, cognitive disorders, relationship disorders, emotional expression disorders, attention disorders, anxieties, etc. ).

These young people come from different structures and systems in the Vannes country (Medico Educational Institute, Special Education and Home Care Services, Localized Unit for School Inclusion, etc.) accompanied by their teachers, educators, nurses, etc.

On site, Antoine Le Gall, a graduate teacher from the Bluegreen golf course, prepared the workshops and, with the help of caregivers and teachers, adapted them to the needs and difficulties of the young people: simple instructions, repetition of proposals, use of visual material and playful, use of pictograms…

These 5 projects were financed thanks to a budget allocated by the National Sports Agency to the Sports Association of Baden. This envelope, supplemented by donations from two sponsors, “Pierres et Mer” and “Mercedes” made it possible to pay for the supervision of the workshops by a Bluegreen pro as well as some snacks for the children.

Thank you to Bluegreen for providing the equipment and infrastructure, for the rides in carts offered to children.

Thanks also to the city of Vannes for financing transport for young people coming from a ULIS in Vannes.

To close these projects, a family workshop was offered to all the children on Saturday June 25 during the first day of the Grand Prix International Handi-valide in Baden. With their parents or grandparents whom they have initiated, the children were able to do a circuit of putting, hit a bucket of balls at the driving range and take a ride in a cart to observe the Grand Prix players in action on the field.

They left with a smile that just makes you want to continue to set up this type of project!!
