Charles Hudon signs with the Colorado Avalanche

Hockey player Charles Hudon, originally from Alma, has joined the organization of the Colorado Avalanche. The 28-year-old forward agreed to a two-way deal with the team that won the Stanley Cup.

The one-year contract will allow him to receive $750,000 if he plays in the National Hockey League (NHL) and $400,000 if he is relegated to the minor circuit.

Drafted in 2012 by the Montreal Canadiens, the former captain of the Chicoutimi Saguenéens played 125 games with the Habs.

Last season, he played instead in Syracuse in the American Hockey League with the school club of the Tampa Bay Lightning, after a short stay in Switzerland.

A contract for another ex-Sags captain

Another former captain of the Chicoutimi Saguenéens, Laurent Dauphin, also obtained a new contract when the free agent market opened. He joins the Arizona Coyotes after two and a half seasons with the Canadiens organization.
