This Thursday morning, the draw for the qualifying round of the FIBA Europe Cup has been reserved for Cholet a first major opponent: Besiktas Istanbul.
Chalet Basket hopes to return to the European Cup next season. For this, the Mauges club will have to go through a preliminary round in order to participate in the FIBA Europe Cup, considered the 4th tier of European cups.
CB holds the Besiktas club, 10th in the last Turkish championship, in the semi-finals of the qualifying round. If they win the semi-finals, the club will still have to beat another opponent – Leiden (Netherlands), Jamtland (Sweden) or Czarni Slupsk (Poland) – to join the main round.
The four FIBA Europe Cup qualifying tournaments will take place from September 27-30.
In the event of qualification for the main round, which will have a total of 32 teams, Cholet would be placed in a raised group I, composed of Unicaja Malaga (Spain), Oradea (Romania) and Mechelen (Belgium).
