D-Day for the French U20 men’s team, which starts against Croatia

The French U20 men’s team starts its EuroBasket this Saturday with a match against Croatia, from 2:15 p.m. A Croatian generation that was European U16 champion four years ago. But since then, the selections have changed a lot.

In August 2018, the 2002 generation came very close to the EuroBasket U16 final losing in the semi-finals against Croatia, who would go on to win the title the next day. Almost four years later, for the EuroBasket U20, this same 2002-2003 French generation will try to take revenge on Croatia.

Only six survivors of this semi-final

However, the two numbers are quite different. On the Bleuets side, we only find the ex-SIG Strasbourg trio Lucas Beaufort – Jayson Tchicamboud – Clément Frisch as well as the interior Yvan Ouedraogo. For Croatia, the star trio of the time composed ofIvan Perasovic, Boris Tisma and especially MVP Roko Prkacin is no longer there. Only the interiors Ante Perkusic and Matej Bosnjak are the survivors of this golden generation. Whatever this observation, the two selections are willing to enter their competition to consider completing their international youth course as best as possible. The in-between will be given at 2:15 p.m. The match will be broadcast live on L’Équipe Live as well as delayed on the L’Équipe Channel (at 8:55 p.m.).
