Handball (Coupe de France): Bordeaux Bruges Lormont HB inherits a big piece for its first match of the season

June 22, 2022

The BBL will challenge Dunkirk in the round of 16 of the Coupe de France. A gala duel that risks keeping all its promises for the start of the season.

National 1 Champion, the very young Bordeaux Bruges Lormont Handball club continues to grow and will evaluate in Proligue, the second tier of men’s handball in France, for the 2022-2023 season.

And even before the start of the championship, the men of Philippe Gardent will start this new exercise with the Coupe de France and an already enticing duel for the 16th final since the BBL will host the Dunkirk team.

A first gala match against tenth of the last StarLeague championship that should be held on September 7 next in Gironde. Juggling between several rooms (Bordeaux, Lormont, Bruges, Pessac…) the place and the exact time of this meeting are not yet known.

Paris Saint-Germain, defending champion and former club of Philippe Gardent, will travel to Strasbourg while Limoges will go to Frontignan and Billère-Pau Pyrénées, future opponent of the BBL in D2, will welcome Saint-Raphaël, another team playing in the elite.

If successful against the northerners, the Girondin handball players will continue the adventure with a round of 16 to be played on the weekend of November 16.
