The Strasbourg recruitment is closed with the arrival of Chérubin Tabanguet. Unlike Mamadou Wora Dia, his teammate in the Gabonese national team and future partner in Strasbourg, the left back (1.85m) already knows European and French handball.
Passed through Cameroon, Morocco and Turkey, he joined Macedonia and RK Pelister during the 2018-2019 season, with whom he contested the European Cup (EHF). Before heading for Saint-Flour, where he panicked the counters in N1 (96 goals in 10 matches), then rising to D2 with Cherbourg in the summer of 2020.
His first season in Normandy was rather successful (98 goals in 21 games), the second ended in January 2022, Chérubin Tabanguet having left the JSC where he no longer played much (18 goals in 15 games) to join the club of Sassari (Italian D1), with which he won the Italian Cup. The Gabonese international replaces Robin Paris, who left for Dijon (D2), and accompanies Dorian Vallet in the left-back position.
The team coached by Denis Lathoud is now full and will resume training on July 25.
