Saturday June 19, the 3×3 basketball tournament, organized by the PLC Auray basket, should have taken place on the new grounds of the Loch stadium. With a temperature close to 35 ° C, the organizers had to review their copy.
It was finally in the salle du Verger that the fourteen teams from Baden, Brest, Vannes and the Pays d’Auray met for intense and spectacular matches. In this variant of basketball, derived from street basketball and an Olympic sport since Tokyo 2020, two teams of three players compete on a half court and a single basket. Meetings last ten minutes. The size of the ball, the substitutions, or the counting of faults, differ from the classic rules of the basket. “There is a little more contact and it plays faster,” said Kristina Milovanovic.
Victory for the PLC Auray
Seduced by this new sport in the making at the PLCA – a few licenses have been registered this season – the Alréennes and Alréens have damned the pawn to their opponents. The “Team Pookies”, made up of Louise, Marie, and Chloé, and the “Team Splash Brothers” of Némo, Marin, Étienne and Théo, won their club’s first tournament. With the victories of Chloé and Némo in the three-point shooting contest, the PLCA took it all.
