“It’s very, very special,” savors Johnny Sexton

Johnny Sexton, the captain of Ireland victorious over New Zealand this Saturday in Auckland (22-32), named his feeling at the microphone of the BBC: “It’s a very special day because we played against the best in the world. Coming here and doing what we did is very, very special. We can see how much on your vintage. We owe it to someone very special too, Faz (Andy Farrell, the Irish coach, editor’s note). He arrived here. He changed things. He was brave at first. He retained older guys and he was criticized. He appealed to young people. He did an amazing job and all the credit goes to him. That’s why this victory means a lot. I know in a year when the World Cup starts it won’t mean anything but for now we’re going to enjoy this evening“.
