The TC Capbreton player passed her first two rounds in the Wimbledon qualifying draw, without dropping a single set en route
One more victory before discovering the lawn of the All England Club for the first time. After beating the Czech Tereza Smitkova (6-3, 7-5), Jessika Ponchet dismissed her compatriot Tessah Andrianjafritimo in the second round of qualifying for Wimbledon (6-3, 6-4).
On the courts of Roehampton Park – so as not to wear out those of the All England Club before the start of the tournament – the 25-year-old Landaise (196th) is in control and offered herself a nice performance against the Gersoise, 140th in the standings WTA.
To open the doors of Wimbledon, the TC Capbreton player will have to overcome the last round of the Australian Jaimee Forlis, 153rd player in the world.
