Announced at ASVEL, Livio Jean-Charles finally chose to join CSKA Moscow, in Russia.

Livio Jean-Charles (2.06 m, 28 years old) will not return to ASVEL, contrary to what had been announced. Married since this weekend, the French interior has signed a 1 + 1 contract with CSKA Moscow, which is quick to bring in strong foreign players despite its exclusion from all European Cups.

Excellent with ASVEL in 2019-2020, Livio Jean-Charles signed at Olympiakos Piraeus for two years. His first exercise was difficult collectively but he reinforced important responsibilities. The situation was reversed in 2021-2022 (3.8 points and 2.2 rebounds in 11 minutes on average in the EuroLeague). The Guyanese will try to revive individually in Moscow where he signed a season with another option. He will cross paths with the future leader of Zénith Saint-Petersburg Thomas Heurtel, another Frenchman who did not hesitate to join the Russian championship despite the war in Ukraine.

CSKA Moscow managed to hire Macedonian coach Emil Rajković and extended another former ASVEL player, point guard Casper Ware, who was Livio Jean-Charles’ teammate in Villeurbanne at the end of the 2016-2017 season.
