Lombez: the rugby school takes stock of the season

The 2021-2022 season resumed on September 4 with a stable workforce: 35 children in U 6, 35 in U 8, 25 in U 10, 37 in U 12, 32 in U 14, including 12 girls. All of the club’s young people were supervised by 32 educators.

During the season, the school organised: the finals of the Orange Rugby Challenge U 14 with 14 boys’ teams and 12 girls’ teams from the Occitanie region; the Occitanie U 12 festive day (20 clubs); the 1st Savès Challenge (May 21) with 54 teams (11 clubs, i.e. 1,000 children and educators). A very successful day under a radiant sun. Following the classification of the different categories, the school won the first Challenge du Savès: 2nd in U 14 (1st Saint-Girons), 2nd in U 12 (1st Montréjeau), 4th in U 10 (1st Lavernose).

On Easter weekend, the structure hosted the Montesson Chatou school (78) as part of ten years of exchanges, disrupted for 2 years by Covid-19. Note that on June 25 and 26, the U1 2 took part in the Éric Bechu Olympics in Luchon, a great weekend for this group.

Finally, like every year, the end of the season trip took place during the Ascension weekend (4 days) in Bretignolles-sur-Mer (85) with a beautiful day at Puy du Fou. In addition, on Friday and Saturday, the club of Saint-Hilaire-de-Riez welcomed the group for friendly matches in U 8, U 10, U 12 and U 14. The unforgettable welcome of the Vendeans remains marked for the youth. On June 25, the U 6s spent the day in Pyrénées-Hô for their end-of-season trip.

While the season ended with open doors on July 2, the resumption will take place on September 3.
