Matera back in the Argentinian XV against Scotland

Argentina coach Michael Cheika made 11 changes for the Pumas’ final test match against Scotland on Saturday.

The return to the starting XV of third row Pablo Matera will be one of eleven changes made by Argentina coach Michael Cheika for the third and final test match against Scotland on Saturday in Santiago del Estero. Matera, injured in the face during the first test and absent from the second, will also be captain in the absence of Julian Montoya, with a back injury. The Pumas won the first Test 28-16 in Jujuy before losing the second 29-6 last Saturday in Salta.

Among the eleven changes made by Cheika, seven are due to injuries. Lautaro Bazan Velez, seven-man bronze medalist at the last Tokyo Olympics, will make his debut in the Argentinian XV as a scrum-half in place of Gonzalo Bertranou. He will form the hinge alongside Santiago Carreras.
