Five years after discovering the Euroleague with the Red Star, Mathias Lessort (26 years old, 2.06 m) will find the most prestigious of the European Cups with the other big club in Belgrade, Partizan. The Martiniquais, trained in Chalon-sur-Saône between 15 and 20 years old, extended his contract with the Serbian club, which he joined last December after a freelance at Maccabi Tel-Aviv.
The international interior (28 selections), bronze medalist at the World Cup in 2019 but not retained in the preselection for the Euro (September 1-18), had very successfully integrated into the team led by the renowned Zeljko Obradovic. He was Partizan’s second scorer (13.1 pts) and best rebounder (6.4) in the Eurocup. For its return to “C1”, the Serbian club recruited Danilo Andjusic (Monaco), Dante Exum (Barcelona) and James Nunnally (Maccabi Tel-Aviv).
