International winger Hugo Descat will leave Montpellier in June 2023 for a two-year contract at Veszprem, where he will reunite with his Blue teammate Ludovic Fabregas, the Hungarian club announced on Thursday.
Descat, 29, had joined Montpellier, double European champion, from Dinamo Bucharest in the summer of 2019 to ensure the succession of the emblematic captain Michaël Guigou, who left for Nîmes.
Trained in Créteil, the Hérault winger evaluated in Veszprem alongside another former Montpellier resident, Ludovic Fabregas (25), who will also leave the reigning double European champion Barcelona at the end of his contract, in June 2023.
Descat, international winger (29 caps) had become Olympic champion in Tokyo with the France team, just like the pivot of Barcelona.
Montpellier finished in fourth place in the championship after failing in the Champions League quarter-final against the Poles of Kielce, unfortunate finalists against the Catalans.
