The national handball team has achieved the most important thing by qualifying for the 2023 World Championship which will take place in Poland and Sweden, national coach Noureddine Bouhaddioui confirmed on Friday in Cairo.
In a press conference after the paying match for the quarter-finals of the African Handball Championship, which ended in victory for the Moroccan team against its Guinean counterpart (28-24), the national coach was pleased with this victory which allowed the Atlas Lions to reach the semi-finals of the competition.
Noureddine Bouhaddioui also cited the efforts made by the Moroccan players during this championship in order to qualify for the world, indicating that the technical staff imagined each of the meetings with different and progressive plans, which made it possible to achieve the trace objectives. .
The match against Guinea was very close because the opponent was the revelation of the Championship, noted the national coach, indicating that a stronger concentration allowed the Moroccans to win.
“We played a defensive match, different in our last two meetings, and we managed to unbalance the opponent who was leading in the score at the start of the game,” he explained.
Addressing the semi-final match, Noureddine Bouhaddioui underlined the lack of time to prepare for it, noting that the technical staff will prepare the players according to the opponent who will be known this evening.
This is Morocco’s eighth qualification for the World Handball Championship. The latest participation was in the 2021 edition, which took place in Egypt.
