Nanterre bets on the former Dijonnais Rion Brown

Former American JDA Dijon full-back Rion Brown is back in France after four seasons between Greece, Turkey, Slovenia, Russia and the G-League. Direction Nanterre for the next season.

After the arrivals of Hamady Ndiaye and Justin Bibbins from Pau, Nanterre is embarking on the American market. The Ile-de-France club formalized this Friday morning the arrival of Rion Brown (1.98 m, 30 years old).

Trained at the University of Miami alongside Julian Gamble and Shane Larkin, the American 3/2 position is best known in France for having played for a season with JDA Dijon in 2017-2018. He had then paid in 5th place for the regular season of the Burgundy club by turning to 12.5 points and 2.8 rebounds on average in 28 minutes.

The one who since retired from his career between Israel, Belgium and Finland experienced four new championships: Greece with Promitheas Patras and Panathinaikos, Turkey via Tofas Bursa, the ABA League by Olimpija Ljubljana and finally Russia – or VTB League – with Enisey last season.

Before the invasion of Ukraine and his return to the G-League box, the time of two games with the Agua Caliente Clippers, the son of Tico Brown (drafted by the Utah Jazz in 1979) turned in the VTB League at 11, 6 points, 5.1 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 32 minutes on average over 11 games.
