NBA
If they weren’t favorites to win the NBA title, the Golden State Warriors finally triumphed over the Boston Celtics. A 4th title for this generation made up of the legendary trio Stephen Curry, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson, led by Steve Kerr. Returning to this title after the final meeting, Killa Klay wanted to send a message to Jaren Jackson Jr, who made fun of the Dubs when he and the Memphis Grizzlies beat them during the season.
The Golden State Warriors have done it. After having lived through two complicated campaigns – marked by the absence of Klay Thompson for 941 days due to two major injuries, that of Stephen Curry during the first of these two years as well as the absence of Playoffs – the men of Steve Kerr are back on the roof of the NBA. Authors of a very good regular season, the latter reached the finals of this post-season, and had to face Boston Celtics which serve as great favourites. However, that was not enough to stop the Dubs, who won after six games. A 6th final and a 4th crowned in eight years for the Californian franchise, now the 3rd most successful in the history of the league, behind the Los Angeles Lakers and the Boston Celtics with 17 trophies. Highly anticipated for this deadline, Klay Thompson will not have shown the level that was expected of him. With 17 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists and 1.3 steals on average over the series, the back can grant his teammates Stephen Curry- voted Finals MVP for the first time in his career – and Andre Wiggins, who seemed to develop his best basketball. Nevertheless, Killa Clay can now boast of having four rings in his trophy cabinet, unlike Jaren Jackson Jr. ; and he does not forget the mockery of the latter during the regular season.
