The Montreal Canadiens have granted a two-year, one-way contract extension to the goaltender samuel Montembeault. The doorman had been claimed on the ballot in October 2021 and has since played 38 games with the Habs. The 25-year-old has 8 wins and now has a 3.77 goals conceded average. Currently, Carey Price and Jake Allen are under contract in Montreal but doubts remain over Price’s future. This signature leaves a little less than USD 250,000 to the managing director Kent Hughes and the latter still has to be signed Kirby Dach. There should therefore be a few more transactions in Montreal over the next few days.
