Diane Parry, 77th in the world, qualified for the second round of her first Wimbledon on Monday by clearly dominating the Estonian Kaia Kaneppi (38th), while Adrian Mannarino (86th), who is playing the Major on grass for the ninth time , managed the greatest difficulties to overcome the Australian Max Purcell (209th).
Parry only took 1h19 to win 6-4, 6-4 against the ex-N.15 and quarter-finalist in 2013, when Mannarino needed 3h53 to dismiss Purcell, from the qualifications, 6 -3, 7-6 (0), 4-6, 4-6, 6-4.
In the next round, Parry will face the Japanese Mai Hontama (139th) who took advantage of the abandonment of her Danish opponent Clara Tauson, while Mannarino will face the American Tommy Paul (32nd).
