Projects to better bounce back at the Onet Basket club

After the extraordinary meeting of the Onet Basket club, which aimed to update its statutes, took place this Friday, July 1, at the MDA des Costes Rouges, the general meeting was held in the presence of Valérie Abadie-Roques representing the mayor, as well as Christel Espinasse, new president of the Aveyron-Lozère departmental committee, of which it was also the first AG, as president.

As a preamble, club president Nadine Fronzes recalled that the club offered the licenses for this season so as not to operate on inactivity and a championship on stand-by, due to the pandemic.

However, the club has managed to maintain the same number of licensees as in previous years: a U7, U9, U13 team, senior girls and senior boys. Last season was disrupted by match reports and a lack of volunteers and coaches… with related sporting results, as the coaches explain.

The teams continue to train at the Albatross gymnasium “Besides, I would like to thank the town hall for the repair work on the roof and for those to come on the ground, but we reiterate our wish to have a work and meeting space for the office and the teams. And since we are at the thanks, I would send one in particular to Attoumani, who has invested himself without counting in training, but also during matches, at home and away…”, explains Nadine Fronzes. She then gave the floor to Corinne, who presented a financial report showing a slight deficit, due of course to the licenses refused, but also to the fact that the club could not organize the traditional profit-making events (belote, quine… ).

After the summer break, the club is counting a lot on the sports festival which will take place on Sunday September 4 and on that of the basket which will take place the following Saturday, both in Onet, to meet new children and seniors who could possibly join the different teams. and thus be able to look more calmly to a great season and good results…

After the adoption of the various reports, the meeting ended with a dinner aperitif, which everyone shared with obvious pleasure, hoping to meet again at the start of the school year, to have fun with their favorite sport!
