The Pumas won the first Test 26-18 on July 9 in Jujuy before losing the second 29-6 on July 2 in Salta.
Minnows 13-28 to 49e minute, the men of Australian coach Michael Cheika never gave up and ended up overthrowing an XV of Thistle which had dominated most of the match, bought a final of fire, concluded by the test of the victory registered by the winger and kicker, Emiliano Boffelli, former Racing 92 today in Edinburgh.
Each team scored four tries, in an extremely prolific game.
Boffelli opened the scoring in the 11e minute on a long shot from their own half, but two minutes later Scotland found the opener with a powerful try from winger Duhan van der Merwe, converted by fly-half Blair Kinghorn (3-7, 13e).
The Pumas immediately reacted and scored in turn a try by opener Santiago Carreras at the end of a magnificent action, transformed by Boffelli (10-7, 20e).
No time to get bored at the Unico Madre de Ciudades stadium with a new Scottish try from hooker Ewan Ashman, transformed by Kinghorn (10-14, 25e).
Boffelli, the hero
The same Ashman who worsened the mark after returning from the locker room by scoring five additional points in force along the sideline (43e). Scotland was then heading for a clear victory, especially as van der Merwe in turn increased the bill, concretizing the clear domination of his team (13-28, 49e) at this instant of the match.
Yet the Argentines have never given up, supported by a full stadium, and they took it well. Because the reward was not long in coming, with a try from the pillar Nahuel Tetaz Chaparro, also in force, and transformed by Boffelli (20-28, 51e). Chaparro (33), entered during the game, passed a few years ago by Stade Français and Lyon OU.
This test revived the South American machine, which confirmed with five new points scored by scrum half Gonzalo Bertranou (67e), also entered during the match.
With the transformation of Boffelli the Pumas were only four points behind (27-31), and the feat occurred at the end of regulation time, the striker Boffelli, hero of the day, exploding the stadium with a final try corner, which definitely knocked out the Scots.
