Eddie Jones can be relieved. Remaining on 4 defeats in a row, theEngland set the record straight by winning this Saturday July 9, 2022 Australia (17-25). We will therefore be entitled to a decisive match in Sydney next Saturday between the two nations, the Wallabies having won the first round last week (30-28).
A royal start from England
This success, England mainly integrated it in the first period, achieving a very high level first 30 minutes. Taking advantage of the Australians’ apathy, but also of a indiscipline filth, the XV of the Rose took a 19-point lead, thanks to an essay by Billy Vunipola and 14 units at the foot of the inevitable Owen Farrellalways so precise against poles.
Disoriented, the team led by Dave Rennie raised their heads, and stopped the bleeding with an achievement by Tupou just before the break (7-19).
Australia couldn’t come back
The second act? A sacred opposition, a much more inspired Australia, but which had waste in its game against a perfect England in management, and which capitalized with two additional sanctions from Farrell (17-25).
It’s a superb Saturday for rugby in the northern hemisphere, with the success of France in Japan, and that of Ireland in New Zealand. We are already looking forward to next weekend to see this beauty between the Wallabies and the English.
