“Rugby Europe” unveils the new format of its competition, with two pools and three new teams

“Rugby Europe”, the rugby federation which manages the European nations outside the Six Nations Tournament, unveiled this Friday the new format of its flagship competition, the Rugby Europe Championship, often called Tournament B. The competition will bring together eight teams, with three nations that are appearing or returning: Belgium, Germany and Poland.

Based on the results obtained over the past two seasons, the eight teams will be divided into two pools. In pool A, will be present Georgia, Spain, the Netherlands and Germany. Group B will bring together Romania, Portugal, Belgium and Poland.

At the end of the group stage, “Rugby Europe” set up a final phase, with semi-finals, a grand final and classification matches. The first edition of this new format Rugby Europe Championship will take place between February and March 2023.
