What is WaterRugby?
Established for several years now in Toulouse, WateRugby, which will live its fourth edition, is played on a floating ground, 40m long and 35m wide. Assembled on the water, it is covered with a synthetic lawn and has neither in-goal nor touch. The instruction is simple: to score, you have to dive… into the Garonne! Several hundred players are expected on the banks of the Garonne.
The “Eau’ll Star” tournament headlining
The famous Eau’ll Star tournament, which will take place on Saturday and Sunday, will bring together “40 legends of world rugby”, as announced by WateRugby, divided into four teams. Recent editions have seen Vincent Clerc, Yannick Jauzion, Frederic Michalak or Jerome Kaino tread on this synthetic turf, on the Garonne. For the time being, the composition of the teams is not not yet known.
Top 14 matches, Thomas Fantini’s cuisine…
If the entertainment will be there on the lawn, it will be just as much around the Garonne, since in addition to the various evenings on the program, the Top 14 matches will be broadcast on the giant screen in the village. It will then be the second day of the championship, which will notably see Toulouse face RC Toulon, or Montpellier challenge Bordeaux.
Every lunchtime, visitors could taste the cuisine by chef Thomas Fantini, which also organizes a fun and friendly workshop to develop an original dish. Refreshments and food-trucks will also be there.
