The clubhouse, emblematic place of the Racing-Club, has just hosted the annual general meeting of the local rugby team. The technical staff welcomed Sophie Cazèles, deputy mayor, in charge of the Septfontoises associations. The co-presidents Mickaël Authesserre and Christian Ménard looked back on the season: a very complicated first phase of the championship followed by a more than promising end to the season.
From the start of the competition, the RCS is fishing in the team compositions due to an obvious lack of manpower. The first games are so many defeats, despite some close scores. In the truce, the Racing-Club will rediscover its true values, among other things, a flawless collective and a conquering state of mind. Also, when the championship resumed, the magnificent victory against Entente Villefranche-de-Rouergue/Saint-Antonin paved the way for an end to the championship remarkable for the quality of play offered by the Septfontois, garnering, in fact, a corresponding number of wins. In the end, the RCS ranks 4th in the championship, glimpsing the final stages. Unfortunately, following an administrative equalization, nothing happened, and the club was reversed in the Occitanie cup, reaching a semi-final. After this general observation, the club’s workforce has been reviewed and recruitment continues. Heartfelt thanks were paid to the two coaches, Jérôme Nouailles and Jocelyn Barrère, for their constant commitment during this season, not wishing to continue in their role but to persist at the club. Charles Abitbol succeeds the duo as head coach. As soon as he took office, a roadmap was given to the players with the resumption of training on August 19. Sophie Cazèles spoke, assuming that improvements will be made to the club’s infrastructure. In her conclusion, the elected official informed the assembly of the revival of the football club.
