Russian Karen Khachanov, seeded n°7, qualified for the second round of the Hamburg tournament, beating German wild card Jan-Lennard Struff in three sets (3-6, 6-3, 7- 6 [2]) at the Am Rothenbaum in Hamburg, late Monday afternoon.

Khachanov, 26th in the world at the ATP, will face the winner of the upcoming match between Slovenian Aljaz Bedene and Italian Fabio Fognini in the second round of the German tennis championships.
