Eric Descamps is no longer the president of Tennis Ballon Olonnais, France’s flagship futnet club, six-time French D1 champion.

It is Kevin Castelao, one of the best French players, who succeeds him. But the champion knows the magnitude of his task. “We are very short in manpower,” he admits.

With twenty licensees (8 leisure, 6 female and 6 competitive players), the future is not looking good, especially since the D1 team is facing injuries. If 2022-2023 looks complicated, the future is being prepared now. “The tennis ball is not well known, we have to find other means. »

The future is combined with the FCOC

The TBO will therefore take over the FCOC entity, without skipping the steps. The emblematic futnet club has its habits!

“We are going to move forward in two stages. Integrate before joining and becoming a section. We first want to create a link with the club. »

Vincent Arnaud, president of the FCOC, welcomes the arrival of the TBO: “It’s an additional offer that we offer to footballers. Futnet can bring technicality. “The football club can also serve as a breeding ground and some young people find a vocation.

Kevin Castelao also sees favorably the actions produced by the Pays de la Loire league. The Futnet Tour will stop in Les Sables-d’Olonne on Sunday July 10, place du Vendée Globe.

“There will be football offered in the morning and then a tournament open to all in the afternoon. It is a good promotional tool. »

The Futnet stops in Angers, Le Mans, Laval, Les Sables-d’Olonne, Saint-Nazaire and opened its tour in Nantes on Sunday. With appreciable success.
