Tennis. Léolia Jeanjean, Clara Burel… beautiful people at the Contamines-Montjoie Open!

Throughout the 23 previous editions of the Open International des Contamines-Montjoie, many players from all continents have succeeded. This demanding and destabilizing tournament, in particular due to the altitude which modifies the rebound of the balls and due to its date (the players having already chained many matches since the beginning of the season) functions as a true revealer of talents.

When Patrice Dominguez was still the director, he saw players like Julie Coin, Marion Bartoli, Caroline Garcia and Alizée Cornet evaluated.

Clara Burel and Leolia Jeanjean, boosted by their visit to Contamines-Montjoie

More recently the Breton Clara Burel authorized her career here, while the Montpellier Leolia Jeanjean made a new start.

Clara Burel, semi-finalist of the Open International des Contamines-Montjoie in 2017, scored her first WTA points there, when she was only 16 years old. Since then, she has continued to progress, notably with a victory at the Open Féminin 50 (in Cherbourg-en-Cotentin, W25) last week. She currently points to the 106e world place (his best ranking: 74e in February 2022) and has already participated in all four Grand Slam tournaments. Selected with the French team, Clara participated in the final phase of the Billie Jean Cup (Fed Cup) last November.

Léolia Jeanjean, 26, is currently at 155e global place. She who was the future star of French tennis and had made a strong impression at the Petits As tournament in 2008 and 2009 had seen her career and her support stopped dead by a triple dislocation of the patella. After obtaining a finance diploma in the United States, the passion for tennis did not leave her and in 2021 she will try her luck on the circuit again, after a quarter-final in Biarritz she is a semi-finalist here. She then chained the tournaments and brilliantly succeeded “her” first Roland Garros by reaching in 1/8e final! Who will be next to realize their dreams?
