Tennis, WTA – Budapest Tournament 2022: Krunic releases Zhang

Serbian Aleksandra Krunic reached the quarter-finals of the Budapest tournament, beating China’s Shuai Zhang, seeded n°6 (6-1, 6-0), Thursday morning at the Római Tennis Academy from Budapest.

Krunic, 105th in the world at the WTA, will face the winner of the upcoming match between China’s Xiyu Wang and Romania’s Ana Bogdan in the quarter-finals of the Hungarian Open.

In the previous round of the Hungarian tournament, the Serb won against Germany’s Laura Siegemund (6-3, 6-4).

Zhang, ranked 37th in the WTA, had dominated the Georgian Ekaterine Gorgodze without being worried at the score (7-5, 6-1).
