Tennis, WTA – Lausanne 2022 Tournament: Niemeier beats Lys

Jule Niemeier made it to the quarter-finals of the Lausanne tournament, largely dominating the qualified Eva Lys (6-4, 6-2) Thursday in the middle of the day, at the Stade-Lausanne Tennis Club.

Niemeier, 109th in the world at the WTA, will face Russian Anastasia Potapova in the quarter-finals of the Lausanne Open.

Before his victory against Lys, ranked 217th in the WTA, on Thursday, Jule Niemeier had won against Switzerland’s Ylena In-Albon (7-5, 6-7 [3]6-3).

Eva Lys had won against the Russian Varvara Gracheva, seeded n°8 (7-5, 6-4).
