The first Beach rugby tournament organized by the city of Tarbes and EP Events, July 2 and 3 in Maurice-Trélut

The sandman will pass by to deliver 300 tons of the finest, straight from the Landes beaches to supply the ground for the first beach rugby tournament in Tarbes organized by the city and EP Events, on the next 2 and 3.

It is, in fact, a 35 m2 plot that will see the light of day in the car park located behind the Maurice-Trélut stadium, ready to host wild games on a sand mattress 30 centimeters thick: “We must congratulate the organizer for his idea as much as for a first, it is a remarkable program which is proposed with a hell of a field of players and teams which fuel the success of this event” reacted Gérard Trémège, mayor of Tarbes.

Because, with its EP Events agency, the organizer has pulled out all the stops to offer a particularly attractive and exciting first beach rugby tournament.

Set of internationals in tap dancing and illustrious godfathers

If the day of Saturday will be devoted to amateur clubs and companies, that of the next day will give pride of place to regional teams such as the Stado, the CAL, Bagnères, Miélan-Mirande, the Espoirs du Satde Toulousain; but also to professionals with the back lines of the Scetion paloise and also teams of former internationals like the Toulonnais under the leadership of the Tarbes international Aubin Hueber, the Brivistes, the Bayonnais and our two most recent internationals; Nicolas and Julien Laharrague. The latter will be able, this time, to come in tap dance… in accordance with his first training with the XV of France of Bernard Laporte since the matches will be played barefoot.

“There may also be some surprises” confided Eric Peyrègne who added that “our desire was to offer a real tournament with a sporting challenge since some of the big names in rugby trust us and on this occasion we have to combine the two sponsors of this first edition are Philippe Dintrans, the Tarbes legend of world rugby and Jean-Pascal Barraque, from ASM and captain of the France 7-a-side team. But we also want these two days to be festive and that the people meet up with the players in lively parties. There will be exhibitors, caseta evenings with the official host of the Tarbes, Dax and Mont-de-Marsan festivals”.

Ambiance in perspective, especially since entry is free on both days: “I want to pay our private partners, the town hall of Tarbes for its support, the Stado for the loan of its facilities and the committee 65 for the referees », concludes the organizer of the first Beach rugby of Tarbes without fear of the grain of sand in the cogs.
