LOn June 22 and 23, the Jacques Lavédrine sports complex in Issoire hosted the French UNSS rugby championships. The juniors of the Marcel Aymard de Millau college won the title of champions of France among the 16 best teams from all over France.
On the first day of the competition, the Millavoises trained and coached by Nicolas Coste, John Bernad and Estelle Enguix did not leave the slightest chance to their opponents not conceding a single try in three games.
Today, for the last day of the championship, the Millavois didn’t give up and ended up winning the title against a college in Massy! After leading 12-0, we felt the title getting closer in the Millavois clan. But the young players of Massy pushed hard to return to 12 to 7 at halftime. The suspense was then at its height.
The score worsened from the start of the second half and the college players Marcel Aymard, who lost 21 to 12, began to doubt. It was without counting on their motivation and their great determination that allowed them to get here. With only a few seconds left to play, the Millavoises snatched victory after a winning try (24 to 21) who led them to the highest step of hexagonal UNSS rugby. Good job girls !
