U17 Women’s World Cup: France join Spain in the semi-finals

The French U17 women’s team easily ousted Germany in the quarter-finals (63-40), this Friday in Debrecen (Hungary). The Bleuettes will face Spain on Saturday, winner of Australia this afternoon (51-62).

Vincent Boudeau’s girls broke away very quickly in this match, with an 8-0 start (5′). They marked this quarter-final with an impressive defense. Very aggressive on carrier, the Bleuettes pushed the Germans several times at the twenty-four-second buzzer.

Result: only one basket conceded in the game after the first quarter (20-4), three at halftime (36-11, 20′). A gap that stagnated around thirty points throughout the second period.

Dominique Malonga, future training partner of the A, continued his work in this World Cup. The pivot, already author of two double-doubles in the group stage (against Argentina and Australia), was not far from a third. The hope of ASVEL finished with sixteen points, eight rebounds and three blocks.
