U17 World Cup: the French women’s team wins bronze

As with the men, France left the U17 Women’s World Cup with a bronze medal. Les Bleues took less than twenty-four hours to forget their defeat against Spain in the semi-finals (59-66). Opposed to Canada (84-82) in Debrecen (Hungary), they relied on the very good match of Dominique Malonga. The young pivot of Asvel, already seen with the professional workforce this season, compiled 28 points and 17 rebounds (35 evaluation), supported by Marine Dursus (22 points).

A 4th place for the U20s

On the other hand, the players of the France U20 team failed to imitate the U17s. They lost on Saturday in the small final against Italy (48-64) and finished 4th in the competition, also organized in Hungary, in Sopron. The title returned to Spain at the expense of the Czech Republic (47-42).
