Wimbledon > Gilles Simon already says goodbye to Wimbledon

A few weeks ago, Gilles Simon, who will put away his racquet at the end of the season, said goodbye to Roland‐Garros in the most beautiful way, after two magnificent victories against Pablo Carreno Busta and Steve Johnson, in an atmosphere of madness.

The contrast is striking with his last at Wimbledon. Gilles Simon bows quite widely this Monday at 1uh qualifying round against Croatian Duje Ajdukovic: 6–2, 6–3, in just over an hour.

Following his return to form in Paris, the Niçois had however started his last season on grass in a good way. Coming out of qualifying at ‘s-Hertogenbosch, then winner of his 1uh round against James Duckworth, he had even stood up to Daniil Medvedev in the round of 16 despite a defeat in two sets.

Gillou finally says goodbye to Wimbledon, where his best result remains a nice quarter-final in 2015 against Roger Federer.
