The France team continues its faultless EuroBasket U18 in Greece. This Wednesday, Julien Egloff’s players easily dismissed Sweden in the round of 16 (94-57).
Facing the Swedes without a win since the start of the competition, the Bleuettes have assumed their rank. Once again opposed to a zone defense, they shined with a well-rehearsed collective game (30 assists), taking advantage of the baseline spaces.
The difference was made at the end of the first half, where the France team owed their opponent an almost crippling 15-0, going from 39-27 in the 16th to 54-27 at the break.
Aggressive in defense, the partners of Leila Lacan – author of a perfect match (21 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists, 5 steals) – notably took advantage of scraped balls (14 in the first period) to score many points against attack (41 in total).
The Bleuettes will face this Thursday (3:45 p.m.) in the quarter-finals Latvia or Italy.
