Women’s Volleyball World Cup: a reason to keep hope for Cameroon

even though indomitable lionesses only chain defeats, there is still a possibility of believing in a qualification in the second round

Cameroon’s chances in Women’s World Volleyball World Cup continues to decline. It got even worse yesterday after the defeat against Kenya, 3 sets to 0 (25-20, 27-25, 25-19). With this third consecutive defeat for Cameroon, the points counter remains at zero points.

Thus, to hope for a qualification for the next tour, captain Simone Bikatal and her teammates have no room for error. It is then imperative for the team of coach René Akono to win its next match.

Cameroon’s next outing will be against Puerto Rico. This decisive match for the destiny of Cameroon in this tournament co-organized by Slovenia and Holland will be played on September 29, 2022. Then, we will also have to win the last match which will be against Belgium.

Beside, it is to be hoped that Kenya does not win either of its next two matches. And there, Cameroon will be qualified for the second round; a challenge far from being easy to meet.
